A Scientific Opinion on Vava® Water

by

James L. Oschman, Ph.D.

Vava® Water is delicious bottled natural spring water that has been charged with beneficial electromagnetic frequencies from a very successful therapy. This is a therapeutic approach developed over the past 50 years by several brilliant German physicians and scientists and recently brought to the United States. Biophysical research has led to a detailed explanation of how the human body produces and reacts to various frequencies, in health and disease. This is the leading edge of an exciting and rapidly advancing field known as energy medicine. [1]

In the process of doing the research that led to this technology, it was discovered that there are some natural frequencies that are very beneficial to living systems. Water exposed to these frequencies becomes "imprinted" with the signals. When you drink the water, the frequencies are transferred to and stimulate cells and tissue in the body.

The scientific community has taken great interest in this imprinting process.  While some still have questions, others are carefully researching the potentially vast implications.  This is cutting-edge science because it is taking us to new understandings of life and the many ways frequencies or vibrations can benefit us.

The concept of "healing water" is evidenced by experiences at healing sites such as Lourdes in France, the Hunza water in the Hindu Kush, the spring of healing water in Nordenau, Germany and the healing waters of Tlacote, near Mexico City. [2] Lourdes has been the scene of many cures that have been certified as miraculous after rigorous investigation. There are very high standards for allowing a healing to be declared a "miracle," requiring detailed scientific and medical documentation. The fascinating thing about the water from Lourdes is that there is nothing unique about its chemical composition. The miraculous healings produced by the water have been accomplished by a mechanism that has only recently been investigated scientifically.

One thing we have learned from the history of science is that what is mysterious and puzzling for one generation can become accepted and obvious by the next when logical explanations have been found. For example, 160 years ago a Hungarian physician, Semmelweiss, discovered that a fatal disease connected with childbirth could be drastically reduced if the doctors washed their hands before delivering babies. His colleagues thought he was crazy. It was not until years after his death in 1865 that Louis Pasteur confirmed diseases were caused by something invisible: germs. Only then was the work of Semmelweis accepted the world over. Similarly, scientists have proposed logical explanations of how frequencies can be imprinted into water, with profound implications for biomedicine. This is the evidence used to support Vava® Water’s efficacy.  As a scientist, I appreciate skepticism, and understand how important it has been in the history of science.  But remember, if skepticism were allowed to rule science, virtually all of the greatest discoveries in history would never have become available to us.

The scientific issue relates to an important branch of medicine, Homeopathy, which is a major component of the healthcare system in Europe and India, and is surging in popularity in the United States. Homeopathy has done well in some rigorous clinical trials, but questions remain. It involves diluting active substances to the point that there is not a single molecule remaining in the solution. Scientific explanations of Homeopathy are based on the idea that water is capable of "remembering" the frequencies emitted by the molecules that it has been exposed to. This is similar to the physical process of epitaxy used in material science where a substance takes on the same characteristics of a crystalline substrate it has been placed in contact with.  However, Vava® does not add any substances but directly charges water with beneficial frequencies which are imprinted in the water and subsequently affect the body.  Dr. Wolfgang Ludwig, a very distinguished German researcher, stated that, "Water has the memory of an elephant." He and several other sophisticated scientists have studied the mechanisms of "water memory" and believe that water unequivocally has the ability to retain electromagnetic frequency information.

Our every-day experience tells us that water is an ordinary simple fluid, as it is transparent, odorless, and tasteless. We learn in high-school science that a glass of water is essentially a collection of individual water molecules jiggling around like tiny billiard-balls. Science also tells us that water is much more. Water is the most studied material on Earth but its properties are poorly understood, even by scientists who research it every day using the latest high-tech methods.

It is known that water molecules have a tendency to "stick" to each other in specific ways because of “hydrogen bonding”. A water molecule has two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom. Water is electrically polarized: the oxygen has a strong negative charge, and will tend to attract one of the more positive hydrogens of a nearby water molecule (illustration below). The polarity of water causes water molecules to be influenced by electromagnetic fields. While water may appear to be a simple fluid, it contains crystalline or ice-like molecular clusters that are held together by hydrogen bonds. The water clusters can be large enough, and contain enough hydrogen bonds that they can become stable structures that last for some time. The study of these water clusters has become a major topic of current research. The weekly scientific magazine, Science, had 3 articles on the structure of water clusters in one month, in October of 2004.

Next I will describe how the properties of Vava® Water may arise from the formation of water clusters in the presence of electromagnetic frequencies.

The purpose of science is to make visible and logical those aspects of nature that normally cannot be seen and that therefore seem mysterious. Resonance is such a phenomenon. Every object in the universe, from the smallest to the largest, has a natural frequency that it emits as it vibrates and some frequencies are audible, some are not.  The "tuning fork effect" is a classical example of resonance, which is the mechanism whereby atoms, molecules and other objects can interact with each other without touching. For example, before a concert, the concertmaster signals to the oboist to play an A for the wind instruments. Then he tunes his violin to that same A and plays it for the strings. In the end, the entire orchestra tunes to the same 440 A. In this way the whole orchestra comes into resonance.  Another example of this is when you strike any C key on a piano, all the other C strings vibrate.  This is “like vibrations” reacting to “like vibrations” or resonance.

Like the tuning fork effect, which involves audible vibrations that are carried through air, resonance conducts electromagnetic vibrations through space. This is the basis for radio and television. A transmitter creates an oscillating or vibrating electromagnetic field that sends a signal through space to a receiver tuned to the same frequency, many miles away.

To explain how water clusters can affect the human body it is necessary to understand that at body temperature any molecule, and any water cluster, is continually vibrating and both emitting and absorbing electromagnetic fields. This happens because molecules and water clusters are composed of atoms which are, in turn, composed of charged particles, electrons and protons. It is a law of physics that when charges move (such as when the atom or molecule containing them vibrates) they must emit electromagnetic fields and frequencies. And the reverse is true: oscillating electromagnetic fields and frequencies cause charges to vibrate. Nearby molecules or clusters of molecules with similar structures and hence similar resonant frequencies will vibrate in unison because of the tuning-fork effect. This is the basis for a very important method called spectroscopy, which has been used for over a hundred years to characterize the structure of atoms and molecules. Spectroscopy is used by analytical chemists to identify unknown substances through the frequency spectrum they emit or absorb. Spectroscopy is so sensitive and sophisticated that it is used by astronomers to analyze the light from distant stars to determine their chemical composition.

Note an important principle: a molecule or a cluster of molecules will emit a characteristic set of frequencies when it vibrates, and it will vibrate when it is exposed to those same frequencies. Nobel Laureate Albert Szent-György stated it this way: "Molecules do not have to touch each other to interact. Energy can flow through the electromagnetic field. The electromagnetic field, along with water, forms the matrix of life."

These concepts have been confirmed by a distinguished English scientist, Dr. Cyril Smith, who studied the effects of frequencies on living systems. He showed the complete equivalence of biologically active molecules with their electromagnetic fields. [3] This research explains how many people become sensitive and even develop allergies to electromagnetic fields produced by substances or frequencies in their environment. Dr. Smith's work helps explain the ability of water clusters to absorb and emit electromagnetic fields that are comparable to the fields of the potentized molecules whose fingerprints they carry. Again, just as a water cluster can emit an electromagnetic frequency (EMF), so can it absorb frequencies. In other words, there must, according to the laws of physics, be a complementary relationship between the structures present in water and the fields it is exposed to, and vice versa. This explains how the therapeutic energy fields produced by electromagnetic frequencies can become incorporated into the structure of the water clusters in Vava® Water.

These scientific developments tell us something else that is very important. We can purify water by filtration and distillation, and we can obtain water that meets government standards in terms of "safe" levels of toxic contaminants. But this does not mean the water is good for us, as it can carry "memories" (EMF’s) of toxic substances it has been exposed to. Vava® Water has had all memories that might have been present in the original water replaced with therapeutic memories. These beneficial frequencies are carried into your tissues and cells when you drink the water.

How can the tiny signals from a microscopic water cluster affect my body? One answer comes from research showing that biological systems are non-linear. This science emerged from the work of Ilya Prigogine, who received the Nobel Prize in 1977. Newtonian physics tells us that the more energy you put into a linear system, the bigger the change produced. "If it does not move, push harder." Living systems are just not like this. A tiny input of energy into a living system can lead to a huge change. Hence the tiny vibrations from water clusters are capable of affecting the whole body, particularly when they are suspended in our drinking water, which is absorbed into the circulatory system and taken to the cells in the body. When the frequencies of Vava® water come into contact with the like frequencies of the targeted organ system they create a resonant frequency. This resonance stimulates those cells and their matrix (the substance that exists between cells) so that any trapped toxins can then be flushed out into the lymph and blood system to help restore the organ system to homeostasis (equilibrium). Some people can feel this happening when they drink Vava® Water while others simply experience the results.

The non-linear aspects of living systems are sometimes difficult for people to comprehend. The cells in the human body are extremely sensitive; they are "listening" to the faintest vibrations or "whispers" in their environment. The more closely we look at living systems, the more we see examples of subtle influences producing large health effects. The body contains a network of molecules and frequencies and chemical functions that are inherently intertwined. Our increasing scientific understanding of these facts is helping integrative medicine become more successful and popular. This is the science that lies behind Vava® Water and other forms of energy medicine. In my opinion, it is the basis for the medicine of the future.

Basil Plant Experiment

In May of 2006 Vava® Water was used in a Basil plant growing experiment that lasted approximately 4 months.

Two responses, Vava® Voom and Vava® Joy of Life along with the bottled spring water we use at Vava, uncharged and regular NYC tap water were used. The seedlings were put in Chia® pots and soil pods and watered as needed.

The photo below was taken approx 6 weeks into the basil growing experiment.

l to r: Voom, Joy of Life, no charge, tap

The Vava® Voom and Vava® Joy of Life watered plants look fuller, taller and greener.  The size of the leaves are bigger than the plants watered with tap and uncharged spring water.  We noticed that the Vava® Voom and Vava® Joy of Life watered plants drank more water and all of the Basil had a different taste and smell.

The second photo below was taken in early September at approximately 14 weeks.  The Vava® Voom stands taller than the rest with its very green leaves pointing down, like they are traveling upward quickly. The Vava® Joy of Life also has very green leaves which are tall and fuller and are facing upwards.  The uncharged bottled spring water (which had to be switched to a popular spring water half way through because we ran out of our water uncharged) is much shorter, lighter in color and has smaller leaves.

l to r: Voom, no charge, tap, Joy of Life

At one point none of the plants were watered for 3 days.  This is when the tap water plant started to and continued to die in spite of it being watered.  The other plants became slightly wilted, but recovered when they were watered again, and continued to flourish.

The tastes of the different watered Basil plants were profoundly different: The Vava® Voom tasted robust and hot; The Vava® Joy of Life tasted sweet and mellow; the uncharged spring water tasted like soil and the tap water tasted metallic and bitter. Again the Vava® Voom and Vava® Joy of Life plants drank a significant amount more water than the tap and non-charged.

The plants continued to grow.  We went back to uncharged Vava® Water which  greened up the Basil plant a little.
Later, we enjoyed some of the world’s most expensive pesto pastas all with different tastes.
